APA to host monthly meeting Thursday

RAY BROOK — The state Adirondack Park Agency will host its regular monthly meeting on Thursday this week, with a notably light agenda set.

The State Land Committee will convene at 9:30 a.m. to decide if a plan for three campgrounds on Piseco Lake conforms to the State Land Master Plan. The committee will then hear about a proposed guidance regarding building and siting single-track bicycle trails on state land.

After that, the committee will be updated on the recent discovery of hemlock wooly adelgid near Lake George. The state Department of Environmental Conservation confirmed an infestation of the invasive species on Prospect Mountain, the first such infestation confirmed within the Adirondack Park.

After lunch, the Regulatory Programs Committee will consider for approval two new emergency communications towers in Hamilton County.

At 3:30 p.m., the full board will convene for committee reports, public comment and comments from the Local Government Review Board.
