‘Reflections of a Country Doctor’ Wednesday at Will Rogers

SARANAC LAKE — As part of the Saranac Village at Will Rogers’ Road to Retirement Series, Dr. Daniel Way, Adirondack writer, photographer and physician, will speak about his life as a country doctor from his books “All in a Day’s Work” and “Never a Dull Moment” at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at Saranac Village at Will Rogers.

Way has captured the stories and photographs his Adirondack patients shared with him to illustrate their lives and his relationship with them.

A native of Glens Falls, Way has been practicing family medicine in the southeast of the Adirondack Park for the past 31 years, primarily out of North Creek and Indian Lake. When he began working for Hudson Headwaters Health Network in 1981, he realized two dreams at once. The first dream was the opportunity to practice rural medicine and photography in the Adirondacks. The second was pursuing his passion for color photography, including photographing his patients since 1987.

The Road to Retirement Series features programs related to discovering the path others have taken to retirement, serves to further educate and engage communities and teaches about the opportunities, services and resources that can help people retire successfully and happily.

Discussion and questions will follow the presentation. This program is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
