Troopers search for 2 suspects in store shooting

HAGUE (AP) — State police say they’re looking for a man and woman suspected of robbing a general store and shooting the proprietor, who’s hospitalized with non-life-threatening wounds.

Police say the 63-year-old owner of the Hague Market was shot multiple times with a handgun around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. The general store and diner is in Hague, on Lake George’s northwest shore 75 miles north of Albany.

The victim was transported to the University of Vermont Medical Center for treatment.

Troopers describe the suspects as a man who’s 6-foot-2 and 250 pounds, and a woman who’s 5-foot-4, 200 pounds, and wearing a long green skirt and black shawl.

The Hague Market bills itself as the oldest running general store in the Adirondacks. It had just reopened last week for the summer season.
