State seeks volunteers to prep trails, campgrounds

The New York state departments of Environmental Conservation and Parks and Recreation are teaming up to have volunteers work on campgrounds and trail systems around the state as part of the “I Love my Park Day” Saturday, May 6.

While there are events around the state, Adirondackers can sign up to work this year at Fish Creek Campground near Upper Saranac Lake, Golden Beach Campground in Raquette Lake, Cranberry Lake, Scaroon Manor in Pottersville and the Peninsula Trails in Lake Placid.

According to Parks and Trails New York, one of the partner organizations, 2017 will be the busiest year for the “Love my Park” events.
