Lake Placid News is official paper of the Lake Placid Marathon

LAKE PLACID – The Lake Placid Marathon announced this week that the Lake Placid News will be its official newspaper of the event.

Celebrating its 13th season as the premier marathon and half marathon in the region, the June race is expected to draw upwards of 1,500 participants and has recently been designated a Boston Marathon qualifier for the first time in its history.

“The Lake Placid News is excited to join with the Lake Placid Marathon as the official newspaper,” said Publisher Catherine Moore. “We recognize the impact that the race has in the area and are happy to help spread the word far and wide.”

As a result of the partnership, the News will provide 10 subscriptions for prizes over the upcoming months leading to race day on June 11.

The News will also offer its friends at the marathon a series of advertising to help promote the event and fill the streets of Lake Placid during what has traditionally been a quiet time of year.

“We are stoked to have the Lake Placid News as a partner,” said race organizer Greg Borzilleri. “The paper is a cornerstone of history and current-day Lake Placid. The marathon is honored to be associated with the grand old lady of the Adirondacks”

The Lake Placid Marathon and Half Marathon is accepting registrations for the June event.

Highlights of the race include a fun and family-focused atmosphere, a chance for athletes to train on a similar course to the Lake Placid Ironman and now an opportunity to qualify for the most prestigious distance race on the planet, the Boston Marathon.

The Lake Placid Marathon and Half Marathon is on Facebook, and additional information can be found at www.LakePlacidMarathon.com.
