Now What? hosting free community lecture series

SARANAC LAKE — Now What? will host the second series of free community lectures given by local educators at 7 p.m. Feb. 22 at North Country Community College’s Library

Brian O’Connor, library director at NCCC, will present “Fake News,” how to detect it and how to find accurate sources. Experienced in history, government and library education, O’Connor will guide participants through various sources to reveal misinformation as well as finding reliable source.

A previous lecture, “Unpacking the Affordable Care Act,” presented by Henrietta Jordan of Keene Valley was well attended. Future presentations by other educators include the topics of Immigration, Economics as if People Mattered, LGBTQ issues, the Electoral College, Gerrymandering and Redistricting, and Political Identity.

These lectures are provided to educate and inform people so they can make reasonable decisions in responding to the current political situation.

Now What? formed after the last election, is committed to responding to regressive policies that may undermine the Constitutional rights of the North Country and all Americans. Educators with an interest and pertinent topics to suggest may inquire at NowWhat12983@gmail.com.
