Bruce the Spruce, an evergreen cone who is the mascot for next month’s World Snowshoe Championships in Saranac Lake, greets young students while sauntering down the middle aisle of the Petrova Elementary School auditorium during an assembly Friday morning when the mascot was unveiled.
