Breton joins Tupper planning board

TUPPER LAKE – The village Board of Trustees appointed a new member to the town and village’s Joint Planning Board at a meeting Wednesday.

Rene “Bill” Breton, former chairman of the Tupper Lake Zoning Board of Appeals, will replace Ralph Russell as a member of the planning board. Trustees touted Breton’s experience in village government before voting in favor of him over Scott Snyder, whom Trustee Ron LaScala had nominated.

“(Breton) had been requesting to be on this for quite a while,” village Mayor Paul Maroun said. “He has quite a bit of experience for the role from his years of experience on the other board.”

Trustee Tom Snyder abstained from voting since Scott Snyder is his son.
