Arts grant deadlines and seminars set for 2017 funding

BLUE MOUNTAIN LAKE – The New York State Council on the Arts State and Local Partnership Division administers an annual re-grant program that helps to ensure access to arts and culture in each of the 62 counties of New York state.

The Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts, located in Blue Mountain Lake, administers this grant to the four North Country counties of Clinton, Essex, Franklin and Hamilton.

Adirondack Quad-County Cultural Arts Grants are available for nonprofit and cultural organizations and community cultural projects, as well as to individual teaching artists partnering with public schools in the four counties for the purpose of arts education and teaching artists partnering with community-based learning centers for after-school and adult learning programs.

The deadline for submitting 2016 grant applications is Oct. 24.

The grant coordinator serving this four-county region is Kathleen Recchia, who is available to conduct seminars and answer questions about the granting and application process throughout the year.

The Adirondack Quad-County Cultural Arts Grants cycle begins by attending one of the many grant-writing seminars that are scheduled throughout the four counties. The seminars will be led by Recchia who will explain the program, answer questions and provide application assistance. In order to receive grant funding, potential applicants are required to attend one of these seminars before completing the application. The seminars are free and open to the public. There is no commitment to the seminar other than attending. But all applicants must attend a seminar or arrange for a consultation with the grant coordinator – no exceptions-in order to apply for funding.
