PAUL SMITHS – Paul Smith’s College will host a canoe symposium next month, from July 14 to 17. Registration is due Friday.

The symposium offers participants comprehensive instruction in quiet water paddling techniques.

Solo and tandem paddlers are welcome, as are all skill levels. Each participant will need to bring his or her own own paddle, canoe and PFD. The techniques taught are often called “obedience training for your canoe.”

This year, the symposium is being held at the same time as the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association Assembly. There will be evening events as well.
