APA accepting comments on Wilmington trail plan

RAY BROOK – The state Adirondack Park Agency announced that it will accept public comments on a proposed amendment to the Wilmington Wild Forest Unit Management Plan from now through June 10.

The plan would add about 6 miles of trails to the 17,000-acre forest and would also reroute some of the existing trails to less sensitive areas. The plan also calls for an accessible trail to be built to a picnic area off of Hardy Road and a reroute of the hiking trail up Marble Mountain. Some of the new trails will connect existing regions such as the Flume and Wilmington Reservoir areas.
