Downtown Trick or Treat Oct. 30

SARANAC LAKE – Each year, the Enterprise sponsors the Downtown Trick or Treat event in Saranac Lake, where local children can have fun in a safe environment.

This year, since Halloween lands on a Saturday, the Downtown Trick or Treating event will be held on Friday.

For safety reasons, the road will be closed to traffic from 3:30 to 5 p.m., between the Harrietstown Town Hall to the crosswalk by the post office and Enterprise office on Broadway.

Younger pre-school children are welcome to come earlier with their parents or day care teachers, but only at the participating businesses with a pumpkin sign on the doors or windows.

Businesses who want to participate in giving out candy or trinkets to the trick-or-treater children can get a pumpkin sign for their door or window through the Enterprise.

There will also be a costume contest sponsored by the Enterprise for ages one month to 12 years old.

To sign up to have your photo taken for the newspaper and the costume contest come to the office at 54 Broadway from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The first-place winner for the Costume Contest will get a $50 gift certificate from Goody Goody’s toy store, the second-place winner will get a $25 gift certificate to the Twin Rock Shop, and the third-place winner will get a $15 gift certificate for ice cream at Stewart’s Shop.

Photos will be published the following Friday, Nov. 6 in the newspaper, as well as online.
