LAKE PLACID – The Lake Placid Center for the Arts welcomes Erin Walkow, director of development, who will join the staff at the end of the summer.

Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Walkow comes to the LPCA after 19 years with the Adirondack Chapter of The Nature Conservancy. During her tenure she served in a variety of development roles, and for the last two as the associate director of Philanthropy working very closely with the chapter director and the development team in New York City to raise funds to support their work in the Adirondacks.

In her role at the LPCA, Walkow will oversee development initiatives including individual giving, donor recognition, and special events.

She first came to know the LPCA as a volunteer and then performer with the Community Theatre Players in the early 2000s and has been an avid supporter of the LPCA since then.

She lives in Saranac Lake with her husband, whom she met while performing with the Community Theatre Players, and her two young daughters. They can be found on the slopes of Whiteface in the winter and on the water of Lower Saranac Lake in the summer, and at pretty much any show the LPCA has to offer.

Since 2013, the LPCA has experienced significant growth both in its programming and regional economic impact. Serving more than 60,000 patrons annually through a variety of arts activities, the LPCA is one of the leading community arts centers in New York State. Through growing local and regional partnerships and collaborations with visual and performing artists and organizations, the LPCA is proud to continue to contribute to the vitality of the region for residents and visitors alike.
