Conservationist of the Year

The Adirondack Council presented the Conservationist of the Year Award to Mike Carr, executive director of the Adirondack Land Trust, during the Council’s annual Forever Wild Day on July 8. Photographer Carl Heilman was presented with the Park Communicator Award during the festivities that were held this year in Newcomb. The day’s activities included a guided paddle with Dave and Ruth Olbert of Cloud-Splitter Outfitters and a working forest tour by SUNY-ESF’s Erin Griffin. A lunch for more than 200 people was provided by Kelly and Tony Audino of The Hoot Owl Lodge.
