NCCC hosting Watch Party for historic women’s basketball game
SARANAC LAKE — North Country Community College is inviting the public to an on-campus Watch Party for the Saints women’s basketball team as it plays in its first national championship tournament in school history.
The party will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 14 in the Connector, located between Mullholland and McCormick halls on the college’s Saranac Lake campus.
The No. 2-ranked Saints will square off against No. 7 Passaic County (NJ) Community College in the first round of the NJCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Championship, which is being held at Northampton Community College in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
The game will be projected on a large screen in the Connector, courtesy of Good Guy Productions. Free pizza, cookies and drinks will be provided, and there will be T-shirt giveaways.
“This is a historic and exciting moment for the college,” NCCC Athletic Director Chad LaDue said. “We want to share that excitement with the community. We encourage the public to come out for the Watch Party and show their support and enthusiasm for our Saints as they take the national stage.”
The college will also host a short Send-Off Celebration for the team as they board the buses to head to Pennsylvania. That will take place at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, at the Sparks Athletic Complex on the Saranac Lake campus.
