Vandal splashes red substance on NYC museum wall

NEW YORK (AP) — A vandal has splashed a red substance on a wall at New York City's Whitney Museum of American Art.

The New York Times reports ( ) that the man splashed the substance on a blank wall Wednesday.

The museum said the man was quickly apprehended by security. He was taken to a hospital for evaluation.

The museum's third floor was temporarily closed but reopened within two hours. No art was damaged.

The Whitney's third floor currently houses a Jeff Koons retrospective.
