NEW YORK (AP) — Some Staten Island businesses say they'll close up shop during this weekend's march for Eric Garner.
The Staten Island Advance reports (http://bit.ly/1pN78xA ) that several merchants in the borough's North Shore area say they'll close during Saturday's march.
The Rev. Al Sharpton plans to lead thousands of people in a protest against police brutality.
They want an indictment in the death of Garner in police custody last month.
Sharpton said Wednesday that the march would be peaceful and organizers would not tolerate violence.
But the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce sent a flier to businesses warning that "there is no guarantee that everyone in attendance will act sensibly."
And several merchants say they worry that customers won't be able to get to them.
