Hanging out

September 2, 2014
Adirondack Daily Enterprise
A black bear sits in a tree behind a house on Neil Street in the village of Saranac Lake around noon on Sunday. This bear wandered onto the property and was treed by a dog. While it may be exciting to see black bears in more populated areas, the state Department of Environmental Conservation asks the public to reduce the potential for human-bear
conflicts by not feeding bears and reducing bear attractants such as removing bird feeders and keeping garbage sealed inside a container in a garage or shed.
