Jeff Erenstone of Lake Placid nears the finish line of his third career Lake Placid Ironman on July 27. Just 13 days later, Erenstone completed the Leadville 100 mountain bike race in Colorado. Erenstone covered the high-elevation 100-mile mountain bike course in 9 hours, 34 minutes, 3 seconds to place 421st out of 1,285 competitors. He averaged 10.45 miles per hour in the race that was won by Todd Wells in 6:16:27. Erenstone qualified for the Leadville 100 with his 68th-place finish (out of 323) in the Wilmington-Whiteface 100k on June 22.
