LaValley visits camp

August 13, 2014
Adirondack Daily Enterprise
Bishop Terry LaValley of the Catholic Diocese in Ogdensburg visited the Guggenheim Camp July 22 and met with 93-year-old Lilo Levine of Saranac Lake. She is a proponent of Kneipp Hydrotherapy and met with the Bishop and staff to encourage the camp to participate in the healing practice of Kneipp Hydrotherapy because of its location on the water and her connection with the Guggenheim family. Philanthropist Edmund Guggenheim, who passed in 1972, was known to have donated to many aspects of the community, such as St. Bernard’s Church, Trudeau Institute, the library, college, hospital, as well as the Guggenheim Camp.
