Aug. 1, 9 p.m.
Fire alarm No. 28, Neil and William Street. Jordan House on fire. Extensive damage. -?Higgins & Wallace
Aug. 2, 5:30 p.m.
Call from Mrs. William Duquette complaining about the Jones kids of 11 Prospect beating up her grand-daughter. Investigated and gave Jones kids a talking to about behaving themselves in that neighborhood or they would be brought into court. They claimed Tommy Smith slapped the Duquette girl. Unable to find him. -?Higgins
Aug. 3, 5:35 a.m.
Report from Mrs. Oscar Jackson that there was a young woman in front of Kennedy's Store. No hat, no coat, shoes or stockings and acting suspiciously. I hunted all around that location but was unable to find her. - Jones
Aug. 4, 11 p.m.
Call from Mrs. Dudash that Mrs. Jones was raising hell up there, went up and gave Mrs. Jones a good talking to and told her if she opened her mouth again she would get locked up. -?Ryan & Wallace

Call from 63 River Street -?some people swimming at the beach. Noisy. Found two couples from the Hotel Saranac in swimming. Sent them away with a warning to not come back again in the night. -?Ryan & Jones
Aug. 7, 3:45 a.m.
Call from operator. Said that someone was complaining about noise at Swenson's, down back of Bloomingdale Avenue. Found John Swenson, his wife and mother-in-law had just come home and were laughing and talking. All sober. Windows and doors all opened. Warned them to not laugh so loud. - Jones
Aug. 10, 8:45 p.m.
Complaint from Father Kitts about kids and young people using the Catholic School grounds for a playground, also a 'lover's nest' after 9:30 p.m. until midnight. Told him we would check there after 9:30 p.m.
Aug. 12, 9:10 a.m.
Call from "Ted's" store on Lake Flower Avenue that some kids were up in an apple tree. Wanted the kids put out. Investigated by Wallace and Ryan. Kids gone but picked up Eugene Comstock for hitch-hiking.
Aug. 17, 9 a.m.
More complaints of kids at the Depot raising cane after curfew has sounded. [The curfew was 9:30 pm for kids under age 16. The horn atop the fire house would give a long blast at 9:30 each night for curfew and believe me it could be heard everywhere in the village.] Say police have not been checking. Please do so. -?Chief
Aug. 27, 8:30 p.m.
Call from 110 taxi stand for a policeman right away. Investigated by Ryan and Wallace who found that Lawrence Murphy and Bill Bailey were arguing and Murphy hit Bailey. Emmett Allen [he drove for 110 taxi and was a very small guy] stuck his nose in and got punched right out of the taxi stand. Murphy gone when police arrived. Told Allen to get a warrant. Got a call from Mose LaFountain who said Murphy punched him in the nose for no reason. Told him to get a warrant. -?Ryan & Wallace
Aug. 28, 7 p.m.
Ona Allen, Virginia Street reports someone going into her garden at the corner of William and Virginia and stealing most of her cabbages. Requests police to keep an eye on the garden. Suspects Judson Jones who lives next door as she has had trouble with him. Also she thinks it is being done after midnight. -?Higgins

Fire alarm Box 123, Berkeley Square. Mattress burning in apartment over Jaeger Shop at 74 Main Street occupied by Frances Lyons. Lose one mattress. Thrown out the window by Fireman Leo Maple. -?Jones
Aug. 29, 10 and 11 p.m.
Two calls from Mrs. Gauthier at Gauthier's Motel and Cottages, 143 Lake Flower Avenue complaining about Lulu Lyons dog hanging around her cabins. Went out there twice and dog ran away. Tried to get a shot at it but couldn't. She says she has spoken to Lulu about the dog but she doesn't do a thing about it. Advised her tosee the Judge as we couldn't be running out there every minute. -?Higgins & Wallace
