Jeanette E. Becker, 85 of Sarasota, Florida, went to be with the Lord on May 29, 2014.
She was born May 26, 1929, in Hamburg, New York.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Grace M. Meier, and her father, Howard M. Meier.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 64 years, Wilfred (Bubsy) P. Becker of Sarasota, and her sister Marjorie Whalen of Hamburg. She is also survived by her daughters Debra Becker and husband Karl LeGregni of W. Hurley, New York, Karen Becker of Sarasota and Kathy Becker-Bush and husband H. Michael Bush of Sarasota. She is also survived by three grandchildren: Tiffany Morgan of Berry, Texas, Justin Zoyhofski of Blasdell, New York, and Ryan Dean of Ballston Spa, New York; and five great-grandchildren.
She lived 35 years of her adult life in Hamburg. She summered 35 years on Upper Saranac Lake in the Adirondack Mountains. She was vice president of Becker's Family Restaurants of Western New York and was president of Saranac Shores Property Owners Association. She was a keen tennis player, an accomplished sculptor and a superb homemaker. She was a classy and elegant lady with a smile that captured the attention of everyone. She had a passion to entertain.
Interment will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery, Hamburg, on July 9 at 10:30 a.m. A Celebration of Life will be held on Aug. 16 on Upper Saranac Lake.
