Mark Anthony Warchol, 49, of Hamilton, New Jersey, went home to be with the Lord on May 4, 2014, at Penn Presbyterian Hospital in Philadelphia.
Born on Sept. 10, 1964, in Manhattan, he was the son of Stanley J. Warchol (deceased) and Jeanne Y. Warchol.
Mark was a 1982 graduate and Art Award recipient of Saranac Lake High School and graduated from North Country Community College with an AA degree in 1984.
He was employed for more than 20 years with the New Jersey Blood Service. To say Mark was an avid KISS fan would be putting it mildly. Mark has been collecting KISS memorabilia since the mid '70s and never stopped. Mark was a phenomenal artist, specializing in large canvas acrylic paintings of various rock stars, yes, especially KISS. Mark shared his passion for art with his nieces and nephew by sending them personalized paintings and working on many art projects together.
Mark also loved going to concerts, going out to dance, listening to music and spending time with family and friends, and his dog Caine. Everyone knew Mark as a very loving and compassionate person who you could count on for anything. He was a man who left a profound legacy on this earth, and someone we all aspire to be like.
Mark is survived by his mom Jeanne; his sister Laura J. Kageff; brother-in-law Rene'; and nieces: Francesca, Isabella and Gianna of Pompano Beach, Florida; his brother John Warchol; sister-in-law Sonya; nephew (and godson) Eric; niece Mia, of Coral Springs, Florida; his aunt (and godmother) Linda; cousins: Monica, Brian, Scott and Kelly O'Rourke; and many other relatives and good friends.
There will be a memorial service for Mark in September on the Warchol family property in Paul Smiths, followed by a reception in Bloomingdale to celebrate Mark's life. Information and more details will be updated through the Facebook pages of Mark, Laura, and John in the weeks to follow.
