Whiteface, Gore to end ski season on Easter

The Whiteface and Gore Mountain ski centers plan to end an extra-long winter season on Easter Sunday, April 20.

Some special events and reduced ticket prices are planned for the last week of the season. For details and current conditions, visit www.whiteface.com or www.goremountain.com.

The Adirondack ski and snowboard havens are owned by the state of New York and managed by the state Olympic Regional Development Authority, which also runs the Lake Placid Olympic venues and Belleayre Mountain Ski Center in the Catskills.

Whiteface opened this winter's skiing and snowboarding season on Nov. 15, 2013, its earliest ever. Gore opened on Nov. 16, 2013, the second-earliest opening. Belleayre opened in late November and closed on Sunday.
