The Adirondack Artists' Guild will present its 16th annual juried competition to be held in March.
Interested artists may pick up a prospectus at the gallery at 52 Main St., Saranac Lake, or may download one from the guild's website, www.adirondackartistsguild.com.
Prospectuses have also been mailed out. The show will run from March 14 through April 13.
The competition is open to all artists 18 years of age and older. Specific guidelines about submissions may be found in the prospectus.
Dropoff dates for jurying are March 4 to 8 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Notifications of acceptance will be sent by March 13. The winner of the First Place award will also have the opportunity to have a solo exhibit at the gallery in November 2014.
This year's juror will be Laura Von Rosk, the gallery director for the Lake George Arts Project. She received her MFA from the University of Pennsylvania, and her BFA from the State University of New York at Purchase. Her paintings have been exhibited nationally in both solo and group shows. Her awards include a New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship in Painting, grants from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation, the Bernheim Foundation in Claremont, KY, a full fellowship residency at the Vermont Studio Center, and residencies at Yaddo, Blue Mountain Center, the Millay Colony, Centrum, and Dorland Mountain Arts Colony.
The Adirondack Artists Guild is a cooperative retail art gallery representing a diverse group of regional artists residing and working in the Tri-Lakes region of the Adirondack Park. The gallery is located at 52 Main St., Saranac Lake, 518 891-2615. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and noon to 3 p.m. Sundays. The gallery is closed on Mondays.
