SL Pee Wee team state tournament bound

The Saranac Lake Pee Wee hockey team poses after taking second place at the sectional tournament last weekend in Chazy. Saranac Lake advanced to the New York State Amateur Hockey Association’s state championship tournament March 7-9 in Amherst, N.Y. after winning three of its four games in the tournament. Saranac Lake beat Chazy 7-1, Thousand Islands/Alexandria Bay 8-2 and Lake Placid 6-1. Saranac Lake’s only loss was a 5-4 defeat against Tri-Town (Brasher Falls), which also qualified for the state tournament. The last Saranac Lake youth hockey team to qualify for the state tournament was the Bantam team in 2009. Saranac Lake team members are Dylan Amell, Rhett Darrah, Alex Dukette, Zach Ellsworth, Bruno Freeman, Jaden Gladd, Stephen Huyck, Heaton McCormick, Ben Munn, Quinn Peer, Ryan Picerno, Camden Reiley, Austen Reyell and Chance Rolley. The team is coached by Craig Amell, James Dukette and Bryan Munn.
