SARANAC LAKE - The North Country Real Food Club will host a make-your-own soup/broth day from 3 to 6 p.m. Feb. 15 at the First United Methodist Church, Church St., Saranac Lake.

Slow cooking soups made from fresh, natural ingredients are associated with good health. Soup fills you up and helps you stay hydrated. It provides nutrients without an excess of calories. And it's a great way to incorporate a variety of vegetables into your diet.

Attendees are asked to bring their own pot to cook in as well as any vegetables they may want to add to their soup. The cost is $5 for ingredients (meat/bones, herbs/spices, vegetables, grains, beans). To register, contact Yvona Fast at 518-891-3827 or
