SARANAC LAKE - The 2014 Celtic Saranac?Lake Winter Carnival kicks off this weekend and brings dozens of musicians to the area.

This 10-day, communitywide event traces its roots to a one-day Winter Carnival held in 1897 by the Pontiac Club. This year's carnival takes place this Friday to Feb. 9.

Below is the calendar of live music and other local promotions for Winter Carnival events. For a full calendar of everything Winter Carnival has to offer, see Page 12-13 of this week's Weekender or visit www.saranaclakewintercarnival.com.
