‘Fire in the Stove Pipe’ Saturday

January 16, 2014
Adirondack Daily Enterprise

The Adirondack Center for Writing and BluSeed Studios will present "Fire in the Stove Pipe," a special evening of winter poetry readings hosted by Craig Milewski and featuring three young, local poets: Jesse Patrick, Katie Trudeau, and Mason Wagner, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at BluSeed.

These young poets have emerged through programs developed by the Adirondack Center for Writing and BluSeed Studios is the perfect venue for sharing their works with the community at a time of year when a person can get a little squirrely.

Indeed, in the depth of an Adirondack winter, poetry can serve the community. Poems are like moments of illumination among quiet hours, jolting sparks in the darkness, or threads of calm sanity on the journey through winter.

The Adirondack Center for Writing (ACW) is a resource and educational organization that provides support to writers throughout the Adirondacks. ACW also collaborates with existing Adirondack organizations for literature programming. ACW is based in Saranac Lake but holds programs throughout the entire region.

BluSeed Studios is a not for profit organization whose mission is to provide space where an artist can experiment, diverge, exhibit and perform; to move ideas and aesthetics forward and to share this diversity with the community.

Cost is a $5 suggested donation.
