To the editor:
The residents of the Tri-Lakes have continued to respond generously to the Salvation Army Kettle program by donating in excess of $6,200 to this year's effort. The total amount raised is nearly $110,000 since this tradition was started in Lake Placid in 1993.
There are many individuals and families to whom we owe thanks for giving freely of their time during the Christmas season. This year they worked in extreme weather conditions of cold and rain. As usual, the Rotary Club, Boy Scouts, Lake Placid Pub and Brewery and the high school Key Club, Builder's Club and hockey team all participated.
Special thanks to Price Chopper for their enthusiastic support of the volunteers who use their foyer for a kettle stand. And again, thanks to all of the workers and donors who continue to make this program a success.
