First Night schedule changes

December 30, 2013
By PETER CROWLEY - Managing Editor ( , Adirondack Daily Enterprise

SARANAC LAKE - There's a late change in the schedule for First Night Saranac Lake's headquarters venue, the Harrietstown Town Hall.

The Jay Vons, a soul band from Brooklyn, have canceled; they were supposed to perform from 8 to 10 p.m. at the town hall.

So as not to have a two-hour gap, the Lustre Kings, a rockabilly band from the Albany area, will play a third set at 9 p.m. at the town hall, in addition to their sets there at 10 and 11 p.m.

Also, the River Rat Rhythm Project, a Caribbean-style group of student and adult musicians, will be pushed back to 7 and 8 p.m. instead of 6 and 7.

First Night is an alcohol-free family New Year's Eve celebration of the arts from 6 p.m. to midnight Tuesday in Saranac Lake, with 21 performers at 12 venues.

Today is the last day on which admission buttons can be purchased for $12. On the day of the event, buttons will be sold for $15, only at the Harrietstown Town Hall (39 Main St.) and Ampersound Music (52B Main St.). Children 12 and under are admitted free and will be given special children's buttons at the venues.
