SARANAC LAKE - The First Presbyterian Church hosted a benefit concert for Samaritan House on Nov. 23.
The well-attended event included traditional and contemporary church music performed by the First Presbyterian Church choir. The event was organized by church organist and choir director Scott Smith, who also performed several selections on the church pipe organ. Additional performers included Duane Gould, Lisa and Klaus Meissner, Steve Borst and Skip Outcalt, and a Mozart piano sonata by John Holmund.
The money raised will go toward Samaritan House, a homeless shelter currently being planned for Saranac Lake by the Ecumenical Council. More information about the shelter is available at slecumenical.weebly.com.
