Local business group joins Movember

November 18, 2013
Adirondack Daily Enterprise

Members of the Gold Medal Referrals Group of Business Network International have joined the Movember movement and pledged not to shave in November.

No Shave November or Movember is an annual, month-long event involving the growing of moustaches and beards during the month of November to raise awareness of prostate cancer and other male cancer and associated charities.

Greg Moore from Bear Essentials Apparel created a Movember in the Adirondacks T-shirt and they are available in brown and pink at both the Lake Placid and Saranac Lake locations. Five dollars from every shirt sold will be donated to the Movember charity.

"It's a fun way to promote awareness about a host of men's health issues," said chapter President Jim Williams (WSLP), "And there's the added benefit of not having to shave for an entire month!"

The local business networking group meets weekly for the purpose of growing each other's business. Since its creation in 2006, the Gold Medal Referrals Chapter has generated more than $3 million in verified sales for its members.
