Operation Christmas Child returning to Saranac Lake

SARANAC LAKE - During Operation Christmas Child's National Collection Week, Nov. 18 to 25, a collection site in the Saranac Lake area will receive the packed boxes. The shoebox gifts are then processed, prepared and delivered to suffering children in more than 100 countries.

This year, Saranac Lake residents hope to contribute 450 gifts to the global collection goal of 9.8 million gift-filled shoeboxes. The local collection center is High Peaks Church, 97 Will Rogers Drive. Its operating hours are as follows: 2 to 5 p.m. Monday, 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.
