To the editor:
To the hit-and-run driver who killed my cat Twinkles Sunday mid-afternoon on Forest Hill Avenue/Moody Pond: It must be terrible to live with yourself, being the type of person your callous and cowardly behavior shows you to be. You have my condolences. I hope someday you find a heart and courage; perhaps Glinda the Good Witch can bestow you with some.
To officer Donaldson, who had the misfortune of having to inform me that my cat was lying dead in the road, not 3 feet from my driveway: Thank you for helping and for being so considerate and compassionate. You handled it with class, and I'm sorry you had to deal with my sorrow at seeing Twinkles like that. You're a fine asset to the Saranac Lake Police Department.
And thank you to Neil Harvey for helping to clean the mess in the road left by Mr. or Ms. Callous & Cowardly. I appreciate you helping me out and know you understand what losing your cat in that way feels like.
To some of the drivers around Moody Pond - feel free to slow down.
