Beard battle will benefit men’s health

October 31, 2013

LAKE PLACID - Men, here's a way you can do nothing, and do it for a cause.

Two local businessmen have decided to not shave during the month of November, hoping people will sponsor their facial-hair-growing contest and help raise money for men's health awareness at Adirondack Medical Center.

Tim Robinson of Terry Robards Wines & Spirits has challenged Paul Varga of WSLP-FM to a No Shave Movember to raise money for men's health awareness at Adirondack Medical Center.

Each team will have donation tins at participating businesses around the area throughout the month of November, with weekly fundraising updates every Friday during Varga's morning show.

Anyone interested in supporting the cause is asked to join the "No Shave Movember!" Facebook event page. No financial investment is required, and joining the Facebook page does not mean particpants have to grow facial hair.
