Foster hired to run Pisgah Ski Center

October 30, 2013

SARANAC LAKE - The village Board of Trustees agreed Monday to hire Garrett Foster to serve as manager of Mount Pisgah Ski Center for this coming winter.

Foster will run the mountain for 23 weeks from Nov. 1 to April 14, according to the resolution the board approved. He'll be paid $20,000.

Foster is a former manager of the ski center and a former village fire driver and Department of Public Works employee. He's continued to help out with grooming and snowmaking at the mountain since he left the village in 2010.

Village Manager John Sweeney recommended the board hire Foster after the village received no response to a request for proposals it issued earlier this year to take over operation of the mountain.
