To the editor:
This letter is one that has been a long time coming. My father passed away a little more than five months ago. When trying times come about, you don't always think of the important things; they often get forgotten.
I owe a lot of thanks to Dad's friends, who became good friends of mine - who over cups of coffee and long talks helped me over the road and through the grieving process, to help keep me going, because I still had to live. They are still there for me.
A special thanks for Dr. Abodeely and Dr. Johnson, who were kind enough and gentle to let me know that my father was sick and dying, and what they were doing for him. My questions were always answered for me; I can't ever thank them enough for what they did for me. I want to thank everyone who crossed my life at that time, and thank them for the long talks, the kind words and the encouragement they offered me.
In closing, it's nice know that your hometown community comes together and cares enough to help one of their own who is going through a difficult time.
I appreciate all of your support and care that helped make my father's last days on earth quality time for him and me.
