Saranac Lake Free Library Lunch Program resumes

The Library Luncheon Series will resume at noon Thursday, Nov. 7, in the Thomas B. Cantwell Community Room of the Saranac Lake Free Library, 109 Main St. Dr. Edward Hixson will present the kickoff program, "Three Expeditions to Mount Everest."

Nov. 21 Amy Catania will talk about "Cure In the North Country: Latin American Patients in Saranac Lake."

The Lunch Series, originally started in 1985 by Jeanne De Mattos, and now coordinated by Caper Tissot, runs from Nov. to April with featured speakers from all walks of life with interesting topics to relate. All programs begin at noon and last 50 minutes followed by a 10 minute question period. There is no charge.

Everyone is invited to bring a lunch and enjoy homemade desserts and beverages provided by the library's Refreshments Committee, headed by Joy Harvey, with help from Anne Boutilier, Siobhan Crary and Shirley Morgan. Margaret Worden takes care of correspondence.
