Halloween Train this weekend

October 24, 2013

The Adirondack Scenic Railroad, repaired after a recent act of alleged sabotage, will host a Halloween Train this weekend.

There will be round-trips from Lake Placid to Saranac Lake and back at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Cost is $5 for kids and $10 for adults.

At the Saranac Lake Union Depot, there will be apple cider and donuts, free sugar pumpkins for the kids, costume contests and all passengers will receive a token for a free ride on the Adirondack Carousel.

The locomotive's wires were cut earlier this month, rendering it inoperable. Railroad officials said it was an intentional act of sabotage, and police are investigating.
