MALONE - A Saranac Lake teenager was sentenced to jail time and restitution on a burglary charge.

The 18-year-old, whose name was not released because he's been given youthful offender status, had initially been charged with third-degree burglary and petit larceny. He was one of three people who police said broke into an unnamed business in the village of Saranac Lake and stole several bottles of liquor from it during the early morning hours of March 18.

The teen pleaded guilty to third-degree attempted burglary and was sentenced Tuesday by Franklin County Court Judge Robert Main Jr. to six months in the county jail, five years of probation and $444 in restitution.
