SARANAC LAKE - The village has appointed seven people to its newly created Downtown Advisory Board.
The village Board of Trustees named the following downtown business and property owners to the advisory board at its meeting Tuesday night:
-Marc Coleman, Ampersound music store
-Ken Fontana, Blue Moon Cafe
-Tim Fortune, Small Fortune Studio
-Kathy Steinbrueck, Scott's Florist
-Peter Wilson, Major Plowshares Army Navy
-John Vargo, Eat 'n Meet Grill and Larder
-Tom Finnigan, T.F. Finnigan's men's clothing store.
The advisory board, which was created in September, will make recommendations to the village board on policies, programs and projects that improve and support the downtown. Its purpose, according to its bylaws, is to "Improve economic vitality by enhancing the experience, image and lifestyle of Downtown Saranac Lake."
Board members will each serve two-year terms. They won't be paid. A member of the village board will serve as a liaison to the advisory board.
