To the editor:
Converting the Remsen-Lake Placid Travel Corridor to a rail trail would be a huge attraction for the Adirondacks.
I can guarantee my wife and I would bring our bikes there, and there are many thousands of like-minded people across New York state and the nation who would visit as well. Ancillary businesses such as bed-and-breakfasts, restaurants and other stores would benefit greatly by the green, low-impact traffic it would create.
I have urged state officials to consider this use and to approach it with a comprehensive vision.
