Thanks for saving sheepdog

September 27, 2013

To the editor:

The Joshua Fund is located in the Lake Placid, in the Adirondacks. It provides financial assistance for local dogs with life-threatening medical conditions.

I was given my old English sheepdog, Sophie, from New England Old English Sheepdog Rescue several years ago. Sophie was in a high-kill shelter in New Hampshire when NEOESR rescued her; she was only 6 months old at the time. When Sophie developed life-threatening tumors, I contacted the Joshua Fund.

The people who contribute to the Joshua Fund are truly angels; without their help, many of us would lose our beloved pets. I would like to thank all those who have given to the Joshua Fund, to Dr. Sue Benway, Elmbrook Veterinary Services, Rebecca M. Stanclift, DVM, and especially to Dan Baine who started the Joshua Fund. Thank you so much for assisting me on getting Sophie the medical assistance that saved her life!
