Bombers play even with NAC

LAKE PLACID - Lake Placid and Northern Adirondack played to a 1-1 draw Monday in a Northern Soccer League Division II girls match on the Blue Bombers' field.

The Bobcats took a 1-0 lead 17 minutes into the game on a goal scored by Rachael Venne with Juliana Gardner assisting. The Blue Bombers drew even with just about five minutes remaining in regulation on an own-goal. Taylor Barney was credited with an assist on the play for Lake Placid.

Emily Barney made 12 saves in goal for Lake Placid and Anna Lashway recorded seven stops in net for NAC.

Massena 3, Tupper Lake 0

TUPPER LAKE - Host Tupper Lake was swept 3-0 Monday by visiting Massena in Section X volleyball action.

For the Lumberjacks: Jessica Weigand had eight points, one ace and eight digs; Jessica Friend scored four points, one ace and five blocks; Sidney Kulzer had five points, two aces, four digs and four kills; and Nicole Jessie recorded one point, one ace, two digs and two kills.
