Adirondack Daily Enterprise

The Natural History Museum of the Adirondacks, also known as The Wild Center, opened on July 4, 2006.

With its living creatures and ecosystems, 31-acre site, advanced exhibit technologies, imaginative programs and inspired educational offerings, it will help people explore and appreciate the connections that shape and sustain life.

Every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday until September 2nd explore behind the curtain where practices and ideas combine to bring The Wild Center experience to life.

BuzzzFest honors the creatures that make the world go round, from dragonflies to honey bees. BuzzzFest will also host the premiere of the film Flight of the Butterflies.

Enjoy honey BBQ, web cakes and live music. Collect bugs and try to stump our insect experts, compete in insect races and learn from butterfly walks and bee keeping demos.

Morning Paddle

Enjoy an early morning paddle on the Raquette River every Sunday morning until Aug. 31.

Full Moon Photo Tour with Carl Heilman

This nature photography tour is designed for those who are already comfortable with camera basics such as the relationship between aperture, shutter, and ISO settings.

Cost: $135 members, $150 for non-members

Join us for FlavorFest to celebrate the virtues of eating local food and fare from the Adirondack region. Sample delicious dishes created with locally grown ingredients, local craft beer, and purchase freshly harvested produce from our Farmers Market. Engage with local farmers and chefs, and learn from demonstrations on gardening and cooking.
