SARANAC LAKE - The Robert Louis Stevenson Memorial Cottage and Museum will host an open house Sunday with bag pipes, haggis, live music, tours and refreshments.
The celebration will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. at 44 Stevenson Lane in Saranac Lake. The festivities will commence with an opening ceremony by special guest Bag Piper Cameron Anderson and followed by an address by President Emeriti Rabbi Rita Leonard and President William Delahant.
The day will continue with a presentation of "Ode To The Haggis" by Peter Fish, tours of the cottage and its collection with Curator Mike Delahant and highlight with Stevenson inspired songs performed by singer/songwriter/composer Rita Leonard and traditional music and tales by The Northeast Fiddler, George Wilson.
The music is scheduled to start at 1:30 p.m.. Refreshments will be served by the Reviewers Club and
Tasty Grilled, offering and sides by The Stevenson Society Board.
Cameron Anderson will continue with a medley of bag pipe pieces and conclude in the Society's tradition with a heart-felt rendition of "Auid Lang Syne."
