Carol M. Long, longtime manager of the Loon Lake Golf Course, died peacefully on Long Island after suffering from cancer. She was 83.

Born in Ridgewood, Queens, L.I., on Jan. 23, 1930, she was a musician, artist and lover of animals. She was a graduate of Hunter College and taught in New York City and St. Agnes in Lake Placid.

She is survived by her niece, Janice, and three other nieces and nephews.
