SARANAC LAKE - Work is progressing on a major overhaul of Olive Street, village Department of Public Works Superintendent Jeff Dora said in an email today.

Village crews have completed four of the 12 water service relocations on the road. Today, they planned to relocate one water service and hot patch the trench lines of the completed services.

On Monday, the village will relocate two more services. On Tuesday, the department will shut off the water to Olive Street, Sumner Lane and Macomb Street Extension in order to transfer the main lines for these streets onto the eight-inch line.

Starting Sept. 9, DPW says Luck Brothers is scheduled to install new curbs and sidewalks on Olive Street with paving to follow Sept. 16. These dates will be subject to change depending the weather, Dora said.
