No Lables helps politicians collaborate

August 6, 2013
Adirondack Daily Enterprise

To the editor:

In a divided Washington, our lawmakers have to work together to get things done. But there is no forum for Democrats and Republicans to work together. That's why No Labels, a national citizens' movement dedicated to a new politics of problem solving, is building the Problem Solvers coalition in Congress.

The group has been meeting since January, when it had 24 members - and now it's grown to 81 members.

After meeting together for just six months, the coalition has unveiled a No Labels legislative package entitled Make Government Work. It's a package of nine bills designed to make our government more efficient and effective.

Make Government Work! is a first step - a proof of concept. If Democrats and Republicans can come together around these common-sense ideas, then No Labels believes it will lay the groundwork for even more substantial cooperation in the months ahead.

Sincerely,

Clair Touby
